Shawn is an American Aerobic Association and International Sports Medicine Association (aaai/isma) certified personal trainer.

Always active in fitness and sports, Shawn was on both the wrestling and track teams while in high school. After graduating from high school he went on to Lincoln University in PA where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. At Lincoln he played on the school's football team; he maintains his passion for football to this day. Each year he holds an annual football combine to mentor and train young men interested in playing the game at the college level. 

After graduating from Lincoln University Shawn started his professional career in personal training, working with client's at several large gyms before establishing Gladiator Strong Fitness in 2010.

Shawn has been developing custom workouts for personal training for over 10 years; working with clients at all fitness levels, he also customizes workouts to suit those who have medical conditions that sometimes do not allow for a full range of motion. Additionally, he actively works with women pre and post-natal, designing training programs that enable expectant and new mothers to maintain the best physical health while always ensuring workouts are safe and well-balanced.  

Shawn's goal for Gladiator Strong Fitness is to offer client's a personalized training experience that makes them look great and feel even better. his fitness philosophy is simple: trust the process and the results will follow.

andrew morris

Andrew is an American Aerobic Association and International Sports Medicine Association (aaai/isma)certified master trainer and fitness instructor. He enjoys working with client's that are new to the gym and want a fresh start in fitness. He believes anyone can improve their fitness level no matter their physical condition. He enjoys making his workouts interesting and challenging, ensuring his client's are having fun while staying interested and focused.

Andrew believes workouts should be functional and compliment a person’s lifestyle. Andrew's philosophy is to ensure his client's daily lives are improved and that they have an overall better quality of life. 

Andrew has been physically active his entire life, including being a 3-sport varsity athlete in high school playing football, basketball, and running track.

Talene Appleton

"Talene is a graduate of George Washington University, where she studied exercise and nutrition science. Since moving to DC in 2015, she has gained experience at a wide range of training facilities including Equinox and 202strong. Through her experience, she has developed a passion for training special populations such as youth, pregnant women, and elderly clients because of how they challenge her to adapt and stay creative in her programs. 

Talene has been a competitive dancer and skiier since the age of 3, which she believes sparked her love for fitness and health. After dancing for her college dance team for three years, Talene danced for the Washington Wizards for one season before graduating and starting a full-time job in oncology education. Currently, Talene is working to become a Registered Dietitian so she can practice nutrition in the clinical space. 

Her passion for fitness, nutrition, and holistic health has perpetuated a love for educating those who are working to accomplish health specific goals or simply looking to learn more about the field. Talene believes that fitness should be approachable, affordable, and attainable for everyone regardless of their experience or current level of fitness. Since every client is unique, she is adamant that fitness should never be approached with a “one size fits all” attitude, and is dedicated to providing each client a training experience that meets their specific goals and needs."

Dwayne is a National Academy Of Sports Medicine ( NASM) Certified Trainer.

He grew up being surrounded by athletics and the movement of the human body. Having participated in football, track, baseball, boxing and many forms of kickboxing. He decide to began his fitness career 20 years ago. He has trained or assisted with the performances NFL, BellatorMMA, NBA, Division One basketball, football, track and baseball athletes. 

With over 20 years of fitness, nutrition and and exercise, he believes that everyone is an athlete and are “in training” for the game of life. Dwayne believes in educating each of his clients on the movement and aspects of the human body. His motto, ”Perfecting the chaotic beautiful machine that you are and making it move and function efficiently and safely.”

Dwayne is currently in training to compete in a bodybuilding show later this year.
